Terms of Service
Effective 2026-05-18.
By using Pro Se Legal Docs ("ProseDocs") at prosedocs.stacklis.com you agree to these terms. ProseDocs is operated by Stacklis (Jared C. Nott, sole proprietor).
⚠ Not legal advice
ProseDocs is not a law firm, is not your attorney, and does not provide legal advice. We do not have an attorney-client relationship with you. Information you submit is not protected by attorney-client privilege. ProseDocs is a document-generation tool intended for self-represented litigants and educational use. For consequential legal matters, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for reviewing any generated document before signing, filing, or relying on it.
The service
ProseDocs generates draft legal-style documents (e.g. eviction defense, small claims, debt defense, divorce, restraining orders) from inputs you provide. Output quality depends on input accuracy. Templates are based on common formats and may not match the specific requirements of your court.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a document.
Acceptable use
- Don't use the service to commit fraud, file frivolous lawsuits, or harass others.
- Don't input information you know to be false or that would mislead a court.
- Don't impersonate other parties or attorneys.
- Don't attempt to bypass the free-trial limit, manipulate billing, or scrape generated documents.
We may decline to deliver documents or refund and ban accounts for violations.
Billing
- One free trial per browser, then $9 USD per generated document, charged at checkout via Stripe.
- Charges are one-time; ProseDocs does not auto-renew.
- Not satisfied? Request a full refund within 24 hours of purchase, no questions asked. If a document fails to generate due to a service error, contact us and we'll make it right regardless of timing.
AI output
Documents are generated by an AI model (currently GPT-4o). Output may contain errors, omissions, or jurisdiction-mismatched language. Review every word before use. Stacklis makes no guarantee that any generated document will be accepted by any court or achieve any specific legal outcome.
Content ownership
You own the case data you input and the documents you receive. By using the service you grant Stacklis a limited, transient license to process your inputs to generate the requested document. Stacklis retains ownership of the templates, prompts, and supporting code.
Disclaimers + liability
Stacklis is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Documents are provided "as is" without warranty; you use them at your own risk. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Stacklis is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or legal-outcome damages arising from your use of generated documents. Aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the amount you have paid Stacklis in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
