About Pro Se Legal Docs

A self-help tool for people handling a court case without a lawyer. Built and run by Stacklis, an independent software company.

What we do

You answer plain-English questions about your case. We turn your answers into a draft document laid out the way courts expect: an answer to an eviction or debt lawsuit, a small claims filing, a divorce petition, a parenting plan, a restraining order request, and more. You can preview it for free, and the complete PDF is a one-time $9.

What we are not

We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice. Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship. You are responsible for reviewing your document before you sign or file it. If your case is complex or a lot is at stake, talk to a licensed attorney or find free legal aid near you.

How documents are made

An AI model (currently GPT-4o) drafts your document from your answers, in the format your court expects. It works only from what you tell it, so the draft is only as accurate as your answers. Read every line before you file, and fix anything that does not match your situation.
